The Icelandic National Bibliography

The Icelandic National Bibliography, a project still under way, is published online by the National and University Library of Iceland. Initially, it is a record of the nation's publishing output from 1999 through 2007 and is based on information contained in the Icelandic library system Gegni. The bibliography is dynamic in the sense that a revised edition will appear regularly.

Works published in Iceland are included in the Icelandic National Bibliography as follows:

• Printed material; e.g. books and booklets (5 pages or more), maps, new journals and newspapers. Certain classes of material are not included for the time being; for details, see Exclusion Policy.
• Sound recordings; e.g. musical sound recordings, audio books.
• Multiple format publications; e.g. book + audio cassette.

Other classes of material are catalogued in Gegnir and may be included in the bibliography later on.
